The Benefits From Violent Video Games

There are many people who use violent video games as a scapegoat or to sugarcoat the violence that occurs in the United States. One individual in particular would be The President of The United States Donald Trump who continues to blame it where instead of fixing the problem he continues to point fingers, in which the crime rate continues to increase. According to Anna Goshua who brings up the potential links to aggression that comes out of violent video game and crime where there is a big distinction, she says, “Though some video games are casually, thoughtlessly violent, many others explore violence with nuance, placing it in social context and giving players a hands-on opportunity to explore moral conundrums they would never face in real life.” Although violent games contain hectic chaos, there is a certain beauty that comes out of it.

At this point almost everyone knows that video games increase your eye-hand coordination and assist with your visual-spatial cognition, but there is more good to them than people see. For instance, games like the Grand Theft Auto and Uncharted series unravel a story with characters and plot development where you not mindlessly killing people all the time. In fact, not all players kill they assist the people within the game just for the hell of it, so that feel like they are playing the role of a hero where they have to make big difficult decisions that affect there story based on what the player has decided to do. The most interesting morality systems steer away from the simplistic dichotomy of good and evil and ensure that players feel the consequences of their choices. So just like average ordinary citizens, violent video game players have to make hard choices as well deciding on what to do with their life in game.

There may be those individuals who continue to think that violent video games are ruining are society, but one way could sway the public opinion that believes exactly that. If older people or anybody who is against violent video games thinks they should be banned or something, they should at least give it a hands-on try. Although some of the people who would actually try to play them would be a little too bias, some people may be persuaded to think that maybe violent video games are not so bad after all.
